  I found it a bit disappointing -- I was looking froward to the Giant Space Squid.
  
  The movie was filmed like a Music Video in many regards as well...

    I was disappointed too. I didn't think the ending worked. I wanted the squid!! That was a better ending!
    
    I will say that some of the casting was pretty good. The actor that played Rorschach was pretty good. The actress who played Laurie's mother was not that good. It was as if she thought she was auditioning for a part on Dynasty.
    
    The special effects were pretty good. I'll probably buy the DVD. I definitely will get the "Black Freighter" disc.

      I liked it even though it felt flat in many parts. The main reason I liked it is
      because it is a movie unlike most other movies. So it
      is both rare and ambitious. No DVD for me until they
      Realease the full length cut with the black freighter cut back in.
      That should be pretty epic.

        I'd like to add that even though I was a little dissappointed in it I still can't say that I didn't like the movie. I can't help it. I did like it quite a bit. I want to watch it again now that I've had time to think about it.
